So you’re thinking of making us your primary care home? We're happy and honored that you are considering us. Here’s what you should know to get the most out of your visit with us and make sure that our office is a good fit for you.
We recommend that everyone who joins our practice should start by having a complete physical exam and routine labs. Based on your medical history and exam findings on your first visit, we will provide you with a lab order for either Quest or Labcorp according to your preference. If you recently had your physical and labs done, we will be happy to get the records from your previous doctor. Just let us know.
Timely labs/screenings and follow-up are important to maintaining good health. At Asha Medical, we will work as your ally in your path toward good health with reminders when you will need updated labs/screenings/follow-ups. We are a small office and we strive to know our patients as individuals. During follow-up visits, Dr. Thomas works with each patient to construct a personalized plan to improve their health. However, it is a team effort. We understand that every patient needs to decide for themselves how they want to maintain their health. At our office, we will ask you to do your part. and hold you accountable. If maintaining your health is not a priority, then our office will not be a good fit for you and you should find a different office.
Please be advised that for the safety of our patients and staff, we ask that you do not come into the office if you are experiencing fever, cough, congestion and other respiratory symptoms.. We do prescreen all patients on the day of their appointment. All patients who are sick will be rescheduled from an in office visit to a telemedicine visit or if they prefer to wait till they are well, they are rescheduled to a different day. for an in office apoointment. If you are sick and need an appointment, call as soon as possible and let us know or leave a message with the answering service if it is after hours.
Please note that we still require masks in our office and do provide them for all our patients in case they don't have one. We also do not allow anyone under 18 to accompany a patient to their office visit.
What to bring with you when you come to our office the first time:

We value and respect your time, so we do our best to be punctual and give you the best experience possible. Unlike other offices, we do not double book your time with the doctor. We ask that you come to your appointments a few minutes early if possible. If you are late, this can delay your being seen or in some circumstances, you may even need to be rescheduled.
Sometimes even with the best intentions, you may have to reschedule your appointment. We understand but please consider the medical needs of the our patients and let us know 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. We do now have a 50$ No show/Last minute Cancellation Fee except in the case of illness/emergency. Missed appointments/Cancellations take away appointments from other patients who need it. Unfortunately, patients who repeatedly reschedule/cancel their appointments may be dismissed from the office.
Our office generally goes by appointments. Patients who have made appointments are always our priority. Therefore, we often cannot accommodate walk-ins unless there has been a known cancellation in the schedule. In the interest of your time, we recommend that you call to make an appointment.
